Class IV Passenger Vessel – My Girl

My Girl served in World War II from 1939 to 1946 transporting troops, ammunition and stores to the breakwater forts and the Naval Base at Portland. ‘My Girl’ safely carried nearly a quarter of a million men by war’s end. Operating in Weymouth as a pleasure boat since 1947, ‘My Girl’ has been the subject of television articles, magazines and the book ‘Weymouth at War’ and in 2002 was invited to register with the Historic Fleet of the United Kingdom No 292.

‘My Girl’ continues to serve Weymouth and Portland carrying holidaymakers and local residents to Portland and can carry up to 52 passengers. She has been used many times for private charter including weddings and recently as a viewing platform for the many sailing events taking place on the 2012 sailing venue waters of Weymouth Bay.
